Synopsis
Like a Rainbow / Crap is a devised theatre work created through interviews with high school students in South Korea.
The title carries a dual meaning: “like a rainbow,” reflecting the diversity of the young characters, and “like crap,” a slang expression that captures their frustration, suppressed emotions, and lived realities. Drawing from both research and personal experiences, the piece follows four characters as they navigate adolescence, offering moments of solidarity, empathy, and release.

Director’s Note
To survive in this society and this era, we often choose to be “tamed” by what society demands of us. But is this act of being tamed something positive or something harmful?
This production asks whether conformity is a necessary means of survival or a quiet form of violence imposed upon individuals. By examining how people adapt, submit to, and reshape themselves under social pressure, we question what is lost and what remains when survival becomes the primary concern.
